An urban development seminar in HCM City has just been held to assess the current status of the entire municipality, including issues of architecture, planning and responding to natural disasters and climate changes ... The discussed issues during the seminar suggesting the long-term solutions to the problem of stability and development of the city in the next years.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau Urban Sewerage (BUSADCO) Company  brought many technological solutions as well as products which have been researched and developed by the company such as Precast reinforced concrete trenches with thin walls for cable and piping distribution, embankment base for protection of dykes... These initiatives are based on the research process and the practical application.

These products are nonmetallic reinforced concrete – the concrete used with fiber reinforced GFRP, PP, PE and other types of non-metallic fibers. These are high alkali resistance, waterproof and non-corrosive; have a higher tensile strength than steel reinforcement; help the concrete with the reduction of shrinkage, the formation of cracks, it increases the capabilities of waterproofing, tensile, compression and durability.

Therefore, the use of non-metallic reinforced in concrete instead of reinforcing will ensure the corrosion resistance and increase the sustainability in construction structures. The researching results showed that nonmetallic reinforced precast concrete solutions such as technical trench, manhole for rainwater collection, embankment base for protection of dykes, rivers, shore…. have contributed to the improvement of the efficiency, synchronism and the sustainability of the technical infrastructure projects in urban and rural areas; environmental protection with a view to preventing them from natural disasters under the impact of climate changes.

BUSADCO’s products were appreciated by Mr. Pham Hong Ha - Minister of Construction and city leaders as well as the delegates, because they are very practical when being applied in practice. Thereby, all participants also said that the application of non-metallic fiber reinforced concrete contributed to the complement, diversification of domestic materials technology and pioneered applications of advanced technologies in the world.
