News from BR-VT Urban Sewerage and Development (Busadco), last night, on 15^th May, the works on "researching, applying precast reinforced concrete manholes with thin walls in conjunction with joints for technical infrastructure and environmental protection” of the company was awarded the first prize of Vietnam Scientific and Technological Innovation Award.

Mr. Hoang Duc Thao, General Director of BR-VT Urban Sewerage and Development One Member Limited Company (Busadco) is receiving the first prize of Vietnam Scientific and Technological Innovation Award.

The precast reinforced concrete manholes with thin walls in conjunction with joints for technical infrastructure and environmental protection contributed to solving the problem of "dead pit" which has been happening more and more in urban areas due to the subsidence when cracking , broken joints and manholes; sand and land drifting down the sewer causing road subsidence. The products is issued the patent and useful solution by National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam - Ministry of Science and Technology.

The precast reinforced concrete manholes with thin walls in conjunction with joints have many different dimensions, be precast to connect into the pipelines of drainage system. The parts of manhole are put together by rebated joints, manholes connected into the outside sewers by bowl-shaped (flared) flexible joints being very convenient for installation, operation, maintenance, particularly in the case of requirements of design, topography, geology...The bowl-shaped joint allows to create very flexible joints being suitable for eccentric sewer and manhole, the precast neck of manhole is put together with manhole by the rebated joint; the cover of manhole (manhole form ) is prefabricated with the bearing plate of manhole.

The product is anti- corrosion, anti-erosion, be easy for construction - installation – operation, maintenance and use, it is suitable for all terrain, geology used in drainage system (rainwater and wastewater). This solution brings high economic efficiency due to reducing product cost, using available and common materials, so the materials are saved, investment cost is reduced and it is easy for construction and installation.

This is the 6^th time Busadco has won Vifotec prize for Vietnam Scientific and Technological Innovation.
