On 1st October, in Hanoi, Germany Water Partnership (GWP), Vietnam Water Supply & Sewerage Association (VWSA) and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Urban Sewerage and Development Company (BUSADCO) signed the trilateral cooperation agreement on establishment of Vietnamese Water Competence Development Center.
The establishment of the Center specializing in the water industry with the German - Vietnamese cooperation promises to open up great opportunities for both countries in developing the water industry, especially for Vietnam - a country has been facing the significant challenges in the protection and development of water resources.
Besides, the establishment of the Center also promotes the goal of improving the real situation of the water industry at the enterprises and management authorities.
Reportedly, in 2011, the Federal Republic of Germany organized an expert mission to survey the demand on vocational training in the field of wastewater treatment in Vietnam and found that this demand was great. For this reason, the German Government expected to support the vocational training program in the field of wastewater treatment in Vietnam with the value of 1.5 million euros according to two main forms including the financial assistance for a long time and the systematic consultancy cooperation, training of high qualified lecturers for teaching.
