In the afternoon of December 5^th, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Urban Sewerage and Development Company (BUSADCO) and (the Contractor) Alpha Umwelttechnik AG signed the contract for the Package No.5: "Detailed design, design and technology, electricity, automation, and construction guideline design of wastewater treatment plant, pumping stations, collection network; Supply and installation of equipment for pumping stations, combined sewer overflow (CSO) and waste water treatment plant; Transport and discharge of equipment and storage; Training, technology handover, operation, commissioning, equipment inspection at manufacture" of Ba Ria wastewater collection and treatment project (ODA fund from the Governments of Vietnam and Switzerland). Mr. Tran Minh Sanh, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee attended the contract signing ceremony.

Mr. Tran Minh Sanh, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee attended the signing ceremony.

The Package No.5 is one of ten packages of Ba Ria wastewater collection and treatment project with the total investment of more than 176 billion VND including the main work items such as constructing the wastewater treatment plant with the capacity of 18,000m³/day, 9 pumping stations, 24 combined sewer overflows. This package is expected to be implemented in 48 months. Reportedly, Ba Ria wastewater collection and treatment project has the total investment of 548.6 billion VND including 200 billion VND from ODA funds of Swiss Government and the balance from the local fund of Vietnam. The objective of the project is to improve the urban environment, preserve the environmental sanitation as well as create favorable conditions for completing the technical infrastructure and the development planning of Ba Ria City.

Attending and making a speech at the contract signing ceremony, Mr. Tran Minh Sanh directed BUSADCO to continue promoting the management ability, using the fund efficiently, coordinating with the contractors, the supervising consultants in order to implement the project in accordance with the schedule, ensure the quality and volume of works and put into operation according to the plan. Mr. Tran Minh Sanh also said Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province would arrange to disburse the local fund for the project timely.
