At the present, the rainy and stormy season is coming. In order to actively deal with the flooding situation that can occur, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Urban Sewerage and Development One Member Limited Company (Busadco) having a long history in the drainage sector and owning many scientific initiatives has developed the useful and environmental friendly solutions to thoroughly treat this situation.

Busadco technology

There have been not flooding situations on a large scale for many years in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province. The main drainage systems including the regulation reservoirs, pumping stations, discharge gates…have ensured the local drainage requirements. Achieving such a good results because Busadco has developed many useful and environmental friendly solutions with scientific initiatives which have been researched, innovated by the staffs, engineers and workers of the company for the last years. Currently, Busadco products have been applied in many provinces and cities all over the country and they have also been exported to Malaysia.

The sewer cleaning winch machine should be mentioned firstly. The difficulties in dredging the underground sewer were identified as one of the important reasons causing the flooding for a long time. After a period of exploring, researching, creating, the theme “Research and manufacture of the sewer cleaning winch machines” presented officially. This invention is considered as “a revolution” in urban drainage sector because up to now, the dredging of underground sewer systems has been mainly done by manual methods costing a lot of people’s effort. As soon as being presented, the sewer cleaning winch machine was accepted, appreciated by the environmental scientific and technological community, urban drainage companies in the country. Basically, it has thoroughly treated the blockage of drainage pipelines, especially for the sewer systems with such small diameters so that the workers cannot squeeze into...

The next is the research works with high practical value such as: “Solution of manufacturing and applying the tidal gates for regulating, diluting and scouring contaminated water bodies to reduce environmental pollution”, “Designing, manufacturing and applying the new septic tank in urban areas of Vietnam”, “Researching the materials and technology of manufacturing precast reinforced concrete products with thin walls”... Most of these research works have been awarded Vietnamese as well as international prizes of scientific - technological creativeness. Those works have been applied in many places and have brought practical efficiency.

Economy and friendliness with the environment

Up to now, Busadco has researched and applied about 20 technological products in the field of infrastructure and environmental protection. Particularly in 2010, 10 new technological products were created with high value and capability of effective application. For example, the technical trenches which are manufactured with multiple compartments are convenient for constructing and installing as well as maintaining the underground cable system, resolving thoroughly the “road excavation” situation which has caused many problems for the urban infrastructure management. Among twenty scientific-technological products manufactured and applied by Busadco, there are four products issued the Certificate of intellectual property, seven precast reinforced concrete products recognized as the appropriate solution for Vietnam conditions; the Ministry of Construction issued the Certificate of appropriate technology to allow technology transfer and product application all over the country. So far, there are 35 provinces and cities in the country using this product. Particularly in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the precast reinforced concrete products with thin walls have been applied for new installation and gradually replaced with the old and downgraded systems of water supply and drainage. The underground pipelines were installed on 620 km of roads in urban areas in the province. Busadco was also approved to adjust the project of replacing the current rain water collection manholes with new system for rainwater collection and odor prevention manholes by The Provincial People’s Committee.

With the guideline of being economic and friendly with the environment, Busadco products have dominated the market step by step, affirmed reputation and brand name of Busadco. Currently, Busadco has built and put four plants manufacturing technological products of precast reinforced concrete with thin walls into operation such as: Hanoi, Vinh, Nha Trang and Ba Ria - Vung Tau. According to the investment development strategy, Busadco will build more plants in other places in the country to implement the objective of making intellectual products become commodities in order that the market can develop perfectly in infrastructure and environmental protection.
